Here you can see a description of the various courses that the Center for Maritime Health Services offers in Denmark.

A chest - Refresher course

  • The course is aimed at Danish and foreign persons in charge of medical care who need to have their A chest certificates renewed.
  • Course duration: 3 days.
  • The certificate is valid for 5 years.
  • The course is offered in Danish and held on the island of Fanø. In case of foreign participants, the course will be conducted in English.

A chest - basic course

 

  • The course is aimed at students at the training programme for masters (restricted) and for ship's officers.
  • In addition, it is possible to register for the course with 24 months' documented seagoing service or a valid certificate of competency.
  • Course duration: 10 workdays.
  • The certificate is valid for 5 years and meet the provisions of the STCW Convention and the EU directive.
  • The course is offered in Danish and held on the island of Fanø.

B chest - basic course

  •  The course is aimed at students at the training programme for masters (home trade). Furthermore, it is possible to register for the course with 24 months' documented seagoing service or a valid certificate of competency.
  • Course duration: 5 days
  • The certificate is valid for 5 years.
  • The course is offered in Danish and held on the island of Fanø.

E-learning in combination  with 3-day in-house refresher course

  • The Course consists of a 6-hour E-learning Programme and a 3-day in-house training course on Fanoe, Denmark.
  • The combination is aimed at foreign Captains and Officers from non-EU countries holding a valid STCW-cetificate A-VI/4-2.
  • When you have passed your E-learning programme, you will have to complete our 3-day in-house training course within 12 months. After completion, you will receive a STCW-certificate for Danish flagged vessels.
  • Course fee for E-learning is 1.225DKK and for 3-day in-house training 3.675DKK.

Individually arranged courses

 

The Centre for Maritime Health Service can offer a wide range of courses based on our thorough knowledge of the maritime-medico area:

  • First aid courses with maritime contents
  • Courses in resuscitation equipment
  • Malaria courses
  • Hygiene courses
  • Simulation instructor
  • "Custom-made" courses

Example of a custom-made course in first aid and on-board equipment for "front-desk" personnel on board passenger ships:

Course for "front-desk" personnel aimed at crewmembers on board passenger ships.
Duration: 18 hours distributed on 2-3 days.
A certificate is issued with a description of the course contents.
The course is offered in Danish or English and it would be an advantage to hold it on board the ship.

The course emphasises action competences and training with simulation patients.
No refresher requirements.

The above-mentioned courses are not mandatory and will be held with a minimum of 8 participants.
