Person in charge of medical care

The person in charge of medical care is the person on board the ship who has been trained to provide advanced first aid and treatment in case of accidents and diseases. On board all ships flying the Danish flag, the master must, as a minimum, be trained as a person in charge of medical care.

The Centre for Maritime Health Service (CMS) offers courses for persons in charge of medical care to the Danish merchant and fishing fleet. The Centre offers services in the maritime-medico area for all ships flying the Danish flag.​​
