Day of the Seafarer dedicated to the role of women in shipping

Each year the International Maritime Organization (IMO) celebrates the seafarers with a campaign that focuses on the importance of seafarers' work for the benefit of the whole world in a sector that accounts for approx. 90% of the world's transported good.

​In recent years there has been focus on the physical and mental well-being of seafarers. This year's campaign is dedicated to the role of women in shipping.
