Shipping must be climate neutrality by around 2050. To reach this goal, there is a need to accelerate the green transition through global regulation and cooperation across the maritime value chain. In this context, Denmark has invited participants from more than 30 countries to an international conference - “Green Shipping and Climate Regulation” - in Copenhagen ahead of the upcoming crucial climate negotiations at the IMO.
The conference, which begins today, aims to foster dialogue on how to accelerate the green transition in shipping through regulation and cooperation. It will enable the participants to enhance their understanding of different approaches to climate regulation. The conference will also address the importance of a just and equitable transition leaving no country behind.
