Danish Maritime Authority has taken the first step in the implementation of the Green Strategic Partnership between Denmark and India.

On December 16, Director-General Andreas Nordseth met online with Secretary Dr. Sanjeev Ranjan and a delegation from the Indian Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for the third meeting of the Joint Working Group on Shipping. The focus of the meeting was the Green Strategic Partnership between Denmark and India agreed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on 28 September 2020.

“The positive dialogue between Denmark and India concerning maritime affairs and in particular green shipping can pave the way for innovation, trade and growth. The Green Strategic Partnership between our two countries establishes a strong framework for our cooperation and mutual ambition of promoting a green transition of the maritime sector”, says Andreas Nordseth, Director-General of the Danish Maritime Authority.

The meeting was joined by Ambassador Freddy Svane and his team at the Danish Embassy in New Delhi. The fourth meeting of the Joint Working Group on Shipping will take place in April 2021.
