In order to promote Danish shipping policy views and positions of strength, Denmark has concluded a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with other leading maritime nations. Any follow-up on the Memoranda of Understanding is partly vested with the Danish Maritime Authority and is made in cooperation with the industry, educational and research institutions as well as other relevant stakeholders.
In recent years, Denmark has concluded or renewed maritime Memoranda of Understanding with, inter alia, China and Brazil.
Memoranda of Understanding as a lever of Danish shipping
The Memoranda of Understanding can be used as a lever for further cooperation with partners in the individual shipping nations, for example by holding seminars between the authorities, educational institutions and companies.
The Memoranda of Understanding benefit both the Danish Maritime Authority's possibility of assuming an active role as an authority and Danish shipping that can benefit from the bilateral contacts made at the level of the authorities.
