The Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz

Increased security risk in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz for all Danish ships with current or previous connections to Israel or Israeli shipping companies and/or ships transporting Israeli cargo in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

Due to an increased risk for ships connected to Israel, the Danish ISPS Authority issues MARSEC Level Two for all Danish-flagged ships in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Connection to Israel may include, but is not limited to, ownership, previous ownership, minority ownership, management or operation by companies owned or previously owned by Israeli companies, even in minority, and in relation to cargo.

The following boundaries delineate the MARSEC Level Two area: North of 24.36’ N and west of 61.37’ E.

Ports within the area, but outside of Iran, remain at MARSEC Level One.

All ships should consider their best management practices in the area.
